| 20 TODAYS CATHOLIC | CEMETERY FOCUS | JUNE 19, 1998 |
New feature for Holy Cross Cemetery In approximately one month Holy Cross will be receiving a feature that truly will add to the beauty of our cemetery. Holy Cross will be receiving and placing the first individual mausoleum for this cemetery. This individual mausoleum is an above ground tomb, which will be designed for two. The location of this feature will be at the entrance of the cemetery. The area around this tomb will be beautifully landscaped and is surrounded by a retaining wall. This mahogany all-granite building features a one piece granite floor and two separate crypts. All exposed surfaces of this crypt have a mirror-like polish. The exterior of this tomb is not attractive to moisture or soil and its extreme hardness assures durability. This mausoleum will also feature a hand carved rendition of Christs sufferings at crucifixion. In the late nineteenth century above ground tombs were purchased only by royalty or the very wealthy. So it is with great pride that Holy Cross will have this feature available for burial. The next time you may be in the area stop by to see for yourself this permanent and worry free final resting place.
