Living our ministry
by Rose Jimenez,
Family Counselor,
San Fernando Cemetery II

Upon arising daily, I cross myself and feel liberated to continue my journey. Trudging to work there is time to contemplate what might occur during the workday and about my being of service to others.

Sometimes there are differences of opinions and personalities that require patience, faith and wisdom. These questions area always present: Do I say I’m sorry for your loss? Can I be of service in some small way? Does my presence ease your pain? Can I hold your hand in prayer? These questions inspire a prayer I use often that goes: "Spirit of Christ harbored within . . . Come forth at these times of need and allow me to be more than I am . . . for the answer is here in my heart."
