| Inaugural Issue: Catholic Cemeteries plan to make news section a success
Having the option of producing its own newsletter, the administration of the Catholic Cemeteries of San Antonio decided on a better way of getting information to the families they serve Todays Catholic Newspaper. The one-page news section will be called "Cemetery Focus" and will appear in every issue of Todays Catholic. We believe that providing further information about our cemeteries is the second most important aspect of our ministry, the first being assistance in the selection of a final resting-place for a loved one. Teaming up with the staff of Todays Catholic was the logical thing to do. We felt that we could help to increase the readership of the newspaper while getting cemetery information out to those readers whom we havent yet assisted. Our plan is to provide interesting information on virtually every aspect of our cemeteries. We will highlight trends and traditions, new products and services, and answer questions most asked by families, just to name a few areas of interest. Our staff at the cemeteries will write or contribute to the articles and we will have special guest writers from time to time. Our "Ask the Superintendent" section will allow readers to mail in specific questions regarding our cemeteries and help answer those "I have always wondered" type of questions that I never stop getting. As part of our provided services, families making burial arrangements receive a one-year subscripton to TC, which will keep them informed of cemetery and archdiocesan news and events. Our ministry of burying the dead calls us to be witnesses of Christs Resurrection and challenges us to evangelize all including those who mourn. The "Cemetery Focus" is just one way we hope to do that. (Let us know what you think of our new section: A.J. Sanchez,
